Dandelion and Chicory Tea

Delicious detox for the spring . . . and a great (temporary) replacement for coffee! Buy the yum here, if you’re curious!

I know it’s not the best of resources, but a quickie on dandelion tea from the Wiki:

“Dandelion coffee is said to be a good tonic for the liver.[6] A bitter tonic made from the dandelion root is also used as a laxative.[7] Dandelion tea is also currently being researched for cancer treatment.[8]”

And on chicory . . .

“Chicory (especially the flower), used as a folk medicine in Germany, is recorded in many books as an ancient German treatment for everyday ailments. It is variously used as a tonic and as a treatment for gallstones, gastro-enteritis, sinus problems and cuts and bruises. (Howard M. 1987). Chicory contains inulin,[22] which may help humans with weight loss, constipation, improving bowel function, and general health.[23] In rats, it may increase calcium absorption and bone mineral density.[22]”
